She was born to Chester and Gladys (Fletcher) Bosworth on December 30, 1925, in Winchendon, Mass., but spent much of her childhood in Fitzwilliam, NH. In 1937, she moved to Keene where she remained for the next 81 years. Prior to her death, she left her home of 60 years on Valley St. to reside at Bentley Commons, located on the same Water Street property where she had lived as a child and where she had married Leon Joseph Lamoureux on December 26, 1942.
After many years of providing daycare in her home for children of working parents, Barbara accepted employment at Markem Corporation. At the time of her retirement, she was executive secretary in Markem’s corporate office. She was also an active member of Keene Emblem Club No. 24, having held several offices within the organization, including her service as President of the Club.
In addition to her devotion to her family, Barbara loved playing cribbage, knitting intricately patterned afghans, cooking, attending Keene Swamp Bat games and traveling.
Barbara is survived by two daughters Cheryl Douton and her husband, Henry, of Fort Myers, FL and Kathleen Mohr and her husband, Wayne, of Bloomsburg, PA; four grandchildren, Corey Douton and his wife, Patricia, of Waterford, CT; Jocelyn Kline and her husband, Abram, of Raleigh, NC; Jacob Mohr of Gainseville, VA; Jordan Mohr of Brooklyn, NY; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Ava Douton and Hazel Mae Kline; and two brothers, Elmer Bosworth of Cape Coral, FL and Clifton Bosworth of Keene.
She was predeceased by her husband Leon; a grandson, Christopher Douton; a brother, Chester Bosworth, Jr. and a sister, Ethel Wood.
Services will be private.
