Michael was born the son of Leo and Agnes (Sidell) Welling in Farmington, Michigan on May 23, 1947. He graduated from Farmington High School. Michael served his country in the special-forces in Vietnam from 1968-1970 and discharged with honors. Micheal retired from GM at the SPO parts plant of Waterford MI, after 30+ years of work.
Michael enjoyed life to the fullest; especially when it came to spending it with his children and his grandchildren. He loved to go golfing, traveling, ,biking through Kensington Park, riding rollercoasters with his daughter Michele, Breyer Fest with his daughter Regina, and riding motorcycles with his son Jan Michael. Micheal always had a story to tell you about all the adventures in his life and the people he knew and had met. Micheal was also very well known for his bright pink hat that he would always wear.
Michael is survived by his children Michele (Jorge) Contreras, Regina Welling, and Jan-Michael Welling; grandchildren Aleecia Contreras, Brieanna Contreras, Veronica Contreras and Amelia Summers; siblings Mark (Karen) Welling, John (Sandy) Welling, and Patty Welling. Michael is very well loved.
Michael will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan. The date and time will be posted here once set.
