Gerold (Jerry) John Geror, proud U.S. Army veteran, age 86, of West Bloomfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday February 27, 2022. Jerry was born the son of Willard and Florence (Bakke) Geror in Bemidji, Minnesota on March 11, 1935. He attended Waterford Township High School where he played baseball and was the quarterback of the football team. Jerry married Maxine Dafoe on May 11, 1956. He and Maxine raised their daughter first in El Paso, Texas where he was stationed as part of the U.S. Army, and later moved to Sylvan Lake, Michigan. Jerry was a salesman for F.B. Wright in Dearborn, Michigan for more than 65 years. He was a member of Orchard Grove Community Church. Jerry enjoyed playing golf and cards at Forest Lake County Club where he was a life member. He loved his family and nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with them. Jerry is survived by his daughter Sherry (Reid) Roe; grandchildren Ryan Roe, Alanna (Dan) Scott, Alyssa (Tony) Crank, Morgan Roe, Austin Roe and Colton Roe; great-grandchildren Easton, Ashton, Sawyer, Henley and Saylor; brother Lyle Geror and sister Linda Chambers. Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife Maxine, his parents, and sister Norma Jean Lussier. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Jerry and Maxine’s honor at Orchard Grove Community Church, 850 Ladd Rd Building C, Walled Lake, Michigan 48390 on May 14, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow the service at Gino’s of Keego Harbor. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in their memory be made to Orchard Grove Community Church.
