McCARTHY, Dennis Michael, age 87, of West Bloomfield, died May 18, 2018. Dennis was born on October 4, 1930 in Dearborn, Michigan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Phyllis; loving children Thomas (Nancy), Daniel (Mary), Stephen (Margaret), and Gregory (Pegi); 9 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. Son of the late John and Agnes (Walsh) McCarthy. Preceded in death by his sister Winifred McFalls and brother John. Dennis, a graduate of Wayne State University, was a Metallurgical Engineer and had been employed with Chrysler Corporation for 10 years, and then with Ford Motor Company for 35 years. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Panama Canal Zone. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 4 to 8 p.m. at Family Funeral Care (formerly Pixley Funeral Home), 2904 Orchard Lake Road, Keego Harbor, MI. A Rosary Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 3700 Commerce Road, Orchard Lake, MI. Rev. Gerald McEnhill officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:00 a.m. until Mass. Rite of Committal at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Southfield, MI.
