Carl Weitsu Peng passed away on October 7, 2024. He was born on January 11, 1941 in Chongqing China. He was a talented artist who began his career in industrial design after traveling from Taiwan to California to study at Art Center College of Design. He went on to work in car design as well as graphic design.
He lived in Taiwan until 2005 when he moved to Michigan with his beloved daughter, Ingrid. He loved painting, cooking new recipes, taking care of the family pets, collecting electronics, searching for treasures at TJ Maxx and Marshall's, and visiting the casino with his sister Rosa.
He was the eldest son of the late artist Chunshi Peng and the late Wen Hwei Lau Peng, and brother to the late Ann Chen (Augustine Chen).
He is survived by his sister Rosa Lau (Ying-Tung Lau) and daughter Ingrid Peng. As well as nephew Frederick Chen, niece Grace Chen Henry (William Henry), nephew David Lau (Ronke Olabisi-Lau), niece Jennifer Lau (McDonald Predelus), grand nephew Olajaiye Olabisi-Lau, grand niece Erinola Olabisi-Lau, grand niece Evelyn Chen, grand niece Leanne Henry, grand nephew Sean Henry, and grand nephew Armel Lau-Predelus.
