Dear Dad,
     I’wish you were still here. Lots of questions about what the heck is going on in our country,  I know how hard you worked making the equipment that our military uses in defending this wonderful country of ours.  You were with me when I first went to Arlington cemetery, and I looked down the endless rows of crosses and stars of David, and I realized that this freedom that we has been paid for by those hero’s that are entombed there.  These freedoms are not ours to give away.  It’s very sad, I’m glad that you didn’t have to witness what happened in Afghanistan, but if you had, I would love to talk to you about it.  It was a disgrace and our leadership is not upholding the standards that we have for the United States, we deserve better.  If there’s something you can do to get President Trump back in office, that would be great.  
     Just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you, and trying to be the type of guy you would be proud to call your son.  Miss ya,

Paul Martin was a work collogue at Proserv.  He was senior tome in experience.  Paul was the Quality Control Manager and I was the LEAN Engineering Manager and worked well.  The staff met his lovely wife and can tell Paul was in love with her. 
I was later laid off in 2014 and Paul stayed on with Proserv.  He gave me great recommendation on my linkedin account which I am grateful.  Paul was a private man with great sense of humor.  I was calling him on his cell and explained to me he was very ill. I did not get to say good bye.  Paul rest in peace.

I am your son Robs wife Sandy and I really wish I had the opportunity to meet you and thank you. You raised a great man who treats all women with respect, still opens doors for me after 8 years of marriage.  He loves to help people, is a true patriot who loves this country and an animal lover. We have 6 rescue cats & a rescued fox hound. We were having trouble locating you and I know Rob is heartbroken that he was too late. You will always be remembered & greatly missed. ❤️ 

Dad and Barbara.  Christmas, I think.  He was a great Dad, I wouldn’t be the man that I am today if it weren’t for him and the lessons he taught me, turns out... he was right about a lot of things.  He was a gifted athlete, competing and winning “Century” races on his 10 speed bike.  He was one of those guys who was good at everything he tried, and he didn’t have to try too hard to be good at it.  He was artistic as well,  his photography was fantastic and he had a fairly good sense of humor.  He encouraged me to excel in Boy Scouts, and instilled in me a strong sense of patriotism which led to me enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard.  
We went for a long time without communicating.  Tonight when I texted the number we found, asking him if he was Paul Martin, his wife was nice enough to call me to let me know that my Father was gone.  I wanted to tell him, “Thank you... for everything...”. And to apologize for my behavior, and for taking so long to apologize.  I just wish I could have told him in person.  Thank you to his wife for answering my text and calling me to let me know that he was gone.  I’m glad he had someone like you in his life, and I’m sorry for your loss.
