Patricia Smith was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the middle of five children, to Mary and Joseph Meyer. She graduated from McDonogh High School (’59) and began her career working for the Seaman’s Hall and later, the American Bureau of Shipping. Patricia moved to Houston in 1971, where she was a resident of Spring Branch and later the Katy area and had a career in the metal building industry.
Patricia lived the command of our Savior, to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34) and set that example for her whole family, she was always the first to ask, “how can I help” or “what can I do” and she meant it.
Her ex-husband, Edward Smith, Sr., her parents Mary and Joseph Meyer and her sister Mary-Joe and brothers Paul and Joseph, preceded Patricia in death. Her sister, Martha-Ann Rovira and numerous nephews survive her.
Mom is also survived by her three sons - Edward Smith, Jr. and his wife Robin, Mark Smith and his wife Teresa and Jean-Paul Smith (USAF-Ret).
Granny is also survived by her grandchildren; Naja Smith, Benjamin Smith and his wife Leslie, Colin Smith and his wife Jessica, Casey S. Packard and her husband Alex, Cari F. Hughes and her husband Jason, Katelyn F. Mickle and her husband Josh, Mary Smith and her wife Jennifer, Amy Smith and her boyfriend Alex, Jacob Smith and his wife Alyssa and Victoria Smith.
Her great-grandchildren - Kyleigh, Kaleb, Carter, Michael, Bryan, Nathan, Lucia, Watson, Kennedy, Max, Maverick and Rowan, further survived Granny.
