Coqui was a very sprightly person with an amazing smile that lit up any room. She loved her entire family, especially her husband. She was caring and enjoyed every minute she got to spend with family and friends. She lived her life without regrets and believed everything happened for a reason. She loved those that treated her right and did not spend too much time on those who didn’t. Her life was not easy, but she knew it was worth it.
Her hobbies were crafting, making stickers and signs for friends and family. As an entrepreneur, she attended many craft fairs to sell items and promote her business.
As a breast cancer survivor, she struggled with many health challenges. It was these challenges that made her become a cancer advocate. She helped others from her learned experiences from diagnosis, through treatment and recovery, and was an active participant in the cancer survivor movement.
She developed many friendships while she was a member of the Hope City Church in Katy, TX. Friends were very important to Coqui. Here she found friends that she could talk to and walk through her challenges with. These friends were ones that shared with her what it meant to be supportive, caring, open and more.
She is survived by her husband Mike Maradiago, her daughter Bianca M. Petillon, her mother Maria S. Ortega, her brothers Jorge L. Ortega, Jr. and Jorge R. Ortega, grandson Sebastian Hernandez, nieces and nephews, Xavier R. Ortega, Damian Ortega, Juliana Ortega, Danika M. Ortega, and sister-in-law’s Neisy Alejandro and Vilmarie Ortega.
