Kyle was born in 1962 in Illinois to Janet Ruihley and J. William Soderman. He was educated in Texas completing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 from Texas A&M University. His career spanned more than 30 years working with Shell Oil Company managing construction for major projects around the world. The international assignments came with exceptional career opportunities, but what Kyle appreciated most were the life-long friends he found along the way.
Kyle was married to the love of his life, Kelly Nichols Soderman, in 1987. Their marriage was a strong partnership of two brilliant people who raised their son Kenneth Woodrow Nichols to be independent, accomplished and kind. Kyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, building, and the companionship of his two dogs. His greatest pastime was reading books which helped satisfy his lifelong desire to learn and expand his mind’s view.
Surviving Kyle are his son, Kenneth and partner Kira, his twin sister, Kristi Lee Soderman, and his older sister, Kaye Lona Emmons. Kyle was predeceased by parents Jan and Bill Soderman, and his wife Kelly.
The celebration of life service will be held on Thursday 23 June, 2022 at 11:30 am at the Katy Funeral Home. If desired, donations may be made to a charitable library or literacy organization of your choice.
