God put a Angel in my life!!! Nurse Balser you didn’t realize what a impact you  had on me.I have so many high school memories that still to this day I tell my kids. I tell them what a sweet, funny, caring nurse I had that was also married to the wrestling coach. I tell them when I just needed a break I could go Into your office and just sit and hangout and maybe eat some snacks.  I also tell them I had days where I didn’t feel good in what I was wearing (girl problems )and nurse B would let me go home to change so No one would make fun of me. She was and always has been one of my favorite memories about high school!! I tell my kids I hope you have a nurse or a teacher like Nurse Blaser ,when y’all go to highschool. Having someone you can talk to that gets you is a blessing in disguise. I still can’t believe that my last memory of you is when I came back from college to apply to work at Morton ranch high school and you remembered me. You looked at me and said I know you and I said yes you do I was class of 09’ and now I’m applying to work here. You said I really hope you get the job so we can catch up. I never got the job and we never got to catch up, I will forever remember how excited I felt that day. Thank you my beautiful angel my the Lord  bless you and my you bless your family. Where do I begin. I just looked through all your beautiful family photos. You were truly a blessing. I hope you knew that I pray you had comfort in knowing all who prayed for you and loved you.

The first time I met you was in 6th grade at KJH. You got me through high school. You were a friend, counselor, and a second mom. I loved seeing you. That was part of what made my day going to the nurses office. I love reading all the memories spent in their. Brings a huge smile to my face. You touched so many of our lives. You always had this beautiful smile on your face, even when you were kicking us out of your office.

Wish I would have visited you more often and let you meet Jackson. My heart hurts for your family Mark, Halee and Lance. We only got to know nurse Kelly I can’t imagine the mom, wife and sister you were to your loved ones. You will never be forgotten. 

Kelly was a nurturing presence at KJH that made junior high less horrible for my son (and probably others!). Her door was always open at MRHS and all of my children benefitted from her in both her professional capacity and her personally caring about them. To say she will be missed is an understatement.  

It takes an incredible soul to be able to have touched the number of lives that Nurse Balser did. She had the kind of smile and personality that you could not help but be drawn to, and a heart that was big enough to find a special spot for the thousands of students that she encountered. 
Nurse Balser you are missed more than you know, thank you for the memories and your love.

This is the type of human you want in the education system around your kid. She would never be scared to tell you what you needed to hear but always was there to be a friend and mentor. Pure heart and downright just amazing person. The world needs more like Nurse Balser. You left an everlasting mark on many people. Will not be forgotten. My condolences to the entire family. 

Nurse Balser was an amazing person and loved her job and you never seen her without a smile on her face , you will truly be missed and your encouraging words !! Heaven gained another angel ! You will truly be missed 

To the Balser family my deepest condolence.  Mrs. Balser used to call me very frequently looking for our ESL students at MRHS.  She was always making sure they had all their shots in order.  I will miss those calls.   It was our little  time to say hi to each other.

The last time I saw Nurse Balser was when my sister wasn’t feeling good. She walked my sister out and I ran up and hugged her. She was always kind when I suffered migraines and I enjoyed talking with her. I will always remember her! Rest in Paradise! 

Still so heartbroken over Nurse Balser’s passing. She was the most kindest, genuine, down to earth people I have ever met. She treated every kid that stepped into her office and MRHS like her own. She was truly a beautiful soul that will be missed by so many.

Kelly was an amazing person. She was always so kind and I had the pleasure to work with her for 15 years at MRHS.  In the counseling office she was a constant staple and support to us. She always had some great “intel” and was able to give us a heads up about different difficult situations. She had a gift. She wasn’t just our school nurse, but a friend and an angel on earth. Her laugh was so infectious and she brought a calm to any situation. She was one of a kind and she will be missed terribly. 

I will never forget you Mrs. Balser. You were such an amazing person and did so much for all of us. I’ll never forget how much you helped me with so much going on in my life, and for that I am forever grateful. May your family find peace and love at this time, and may everyone impacted by your legacy as well. “Once a Maverick, Always a Maverick” We will miss you so much! 

Kelly Balser was a wonderfully sweet and kind hearted woman. She was my nurse for over 5 years following us from jr high to high school. I wasn’t what you call the best of kids and spent my fair share of days trying to get out of being at school by going to the nurses office. After spending enough time with me she realized it was just a fake stomach ache or a headache brought on by a test it was something more. She was the first person to take the time and talk to me about why I was so ready to leave everyday. I didn’t have a great home life which effected my school work and made me feel like I didn’t belong at school because I wasn’t as smart as everyone else in my eyes. Over the next few years she allowed me to come to her with my problems and if things just we’re really bad she provided a safe space in her office where I could go to talk and get her advice and perspective on my problems. I remember the day I found out I was gonna graduate I was so excited I left school early to tell everyone and before I ran out the front doors of Morton ranch I ran into her office and gave her a hug and thanked her for letting an over weight kid in 7th grade who’s parents where getting a divorce sit in her office and vent about his problems til he graduated. “She will be missed by many, and forgotten by none.” “Fly high beautiful spirit”

I am so extremely upset.. Mrs. Balser helped me out through my Pregnancy so much as I faced a rough pregnancy my senior year 2020! She was constantly there for me and always checked up on me to make sure I am doing okay.. my heart is so broken and hurt. Thank you so much for always being there and I’m so extremely upset you couldn’t meet my babygirl. You will most definitely forever be in my heart. I will miss you so much... 

She was the absolute best role model. She made me laugh more times than I could count. She wasn’t just a nurse to me she was more than that. May god rest her soul. 

Kelly had a heart of gold and a joyous soul; I will always be grateful for her faithful care of my son who lives with Type 1 Diabetes.  She would see him 3 times per day, every day for the four years he attended Morton Ranch HS.  She was a good friend to me and always had time for a brief visit and happily listened and offered encouraging words. Her goodness lives on in our memories of her. Rest In Peace Kelly; heaven welcomes a new angel.  Prayers of comfort for the family, friends and the MRHS Maverick community🙏🏼💛

I've worked with Kelly and Mark since 2004, when we became part of the original Morton Ranch Maverick faculty. Over the years she always shined, with her bright smile, and her support for students and staff alike has made our Maverick family feel so loved. She was "mama" to so many. 
So many times I went to her for advice about my boys, and her wisdom helped so much.
The Ranch will never be same the same again. Kelly will be so missed, but never loved any less. 

I did not know Kelly but I taught school with Mark at MCJH. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. God Bless .

I was hired at Morton Ranch High last year. As I was walking down the hall to my new classroom, one of the first people to address me was Kelly, stopping me in the hallway telling me “you went to Katy Junior when I was the nurse there.” That was over 15 years ago. I was a student worker in the school’s attendance office in 8th grade. The attendance clerk happened to take her lunch break during 5th period so another student worker and I relied on Kelly (the nurse right next door to the attendees office) for help and guidance if we ever needed any. I remember her sticking her head in the office and checking on us every day, multiple times a day. She was a woman with many hats, apparently. 
Anyway, after that initial reunion at MRHS, Kelly never passed me by without acknowledging me, or asking how my day was going, or how my first year was going in general. I don’t know much about Kelly, but I do know that she had the rare gift of making people feel important and loved- even if they were just some kid she had once been asked to periodically check in on 15 years ago. 

I can only imagine the number of people that Kelly has inspired and guided and given her precious time to. She was certainly a pillar in the Katy community. I wish her family peace and strength. 

What can one say about someone as amazing as Kelly? Good friend to all and fellow KISD nurse for many years. I will miss our frequent "chats" about our plans for our school clinics and what to do for "our kids". Kelly cared for her MRHS students and staff as "her own". Her clinic office was adorned with photos of students and memories throughout her years at MRHS.  She never hesitated to ask "what can I do to help?" I will miss her chuckle and wonderful smile....and our talks about our beloved family pets.  
My heart is filled with so many fond memories of our wonderful sweet Kelly. Forever a special place in my heart.

I had only known Mrs balser for three years (freshman to junior year), she always stood out to me as the one person that no matter the time of day she was always smiling. I got to know her more when I joined wrestling, and even if you didn’t know her well she treated you like family. I found that I would go out of my way to say hello to her throughout the day because her smile was infectious, just one look and instantly the day could brighten up. I am so sorry for the loss of an amazing human being.  She will be missed by every single person she has touched. 

Nurse Balser was the sweetest lady I have ever met. She is so welcoming and truly treated me like one of her own kids. I remember visiting her office from time to time and she would always tell me “if you need anything my office is here, if you want to come say hi you're welcome too as well”.  She made such a welcoming environment and loved us kids so much.  She always had a glow to her face and a huge smile and you could truly see her passion to help others.  I remember telling her prior to homecoming crowning I was worried I wouldn't have any pictures on the field since my mom would be with me, and the next day/ night of the homecoming crowning when I saw nurse Balser at Legacy Stadium, she hugged me with just open arms. She was so happy for me and then she had this huge smile looked into my eyes and reassured me “Diane I don't want you to worry about not having photos, I have my camera here and I’ll be in the stands taking pictures of you on this special night. Just go out there and look pretty for me” and for her to go out of her way to do that meant so much to me. She cared so much for me even though we didn't know each other for a long time. The next year, I came back to the stadium and I saw her again and I went alone so what Nurse Balser did was welcome me to sit with her and Lance and other people so I wouldn't feel alone. She was so selfless and just had a heart of gold. I cant even begin to describe how much of a wonderful impact shes had in my life. She is truly a wonderful person. I miss you so much Mrs. Balser. Im so grateful for meeting you. 

Kelly always had a positive word and that infectious laughter!  She had a beautiful soul and made everyone around her feel good.  There are not enough people like her in the world....she will truly be missed!  She supported the basketball team from afar, and now we support her and her family!  Rest In Heaven!

Kelly always made me laugh.  Sometimes we would share our daughter stories (they are the same age), other times we discussed science, and her smile would light up the room.   
She will be missed by so many...including myself.  Thank you for your friendship.  You made my life better because you were in it. 

I remember back in High School going through the most hard times and needed to get away from class. It was miracle from God to meet her. She didn’t know me well then but, she honestly did a big difference in my life. Her kindness and her letting me stay in her office was pure. When I remember about those days in my life, I always thought about her kindness. I’m seriously thankful to God for her because she was a blessing.  I know loved ones will miss her and may prayers go to you guys. Stay strong.

Kelly took great care of my boys whether in wrestling or band. Such a beautiful, kind hearted person. Always had a big smile on her face. She will be so greatly missed! May all the memories and stories of Kelly bring comfort to your family at this most difficult time. 

Mrs. Balser was such an amazing and beautiful woman. You never seen her without a smile on her face. She was there for everyone and if you were having a bad day she would always cheer you up. She also had an awesome sense of humor. Mrs. Balser you were always such a strong and caring woman. You may be gone, but you’ll NEVER be forgotten. We love you! 

As I walked into the doors, feelings of glee rush through my body. Greeted with a smile from every corner of the room. Mrs. Balser was always an angel; doing miracle work around the school. Bringing joy, happiness, and security to the lives of many. She always had the courage to tell me what was right and wrong in a situation and carefully guided my life choices. When I sat in her office, it felt like a home. A home with walls and a roof; with a kitchen and stove; and with a chair and a pillow. There were so many memories that I looked forward to sharing with her after my first semester of college, but sometimes life cannot be planned. Kelly Balser was like a second mother to me, a mother that cares for her child so much that she would do anything in the world to make them feel special. I finally hear her words loud and clear: you are special.

Kelly was one of the first people I met when I arrived at MRHS. I will always remember her ever present smile and her contagious laugh.  I soon discovered that she, Mark and the kids were all outstanding people. I know she will he missed by so many including me. It was my honor to know her.

I am so sad with the news I just received about Ms Balser . She was my hero in school I looked up to ms Balser she was my second home ,I always felt safe when I was in her presence .She always filled the room with light ,she left a mark on me and this world ,words can not example how much she impacted my life and the others around her . 

I remember her visiting her once a month to drop meds for my son. She always said great  things about my son. She actually help improve his Confidence. He always he joke for her everyday. I actually enjoyed our small talks. I will truly miss her. I’m sorry about your loss. 

A nurse is someone caring, kind, nurturing, comforting and Kelly Balser was all of those words and more! She always had a smile on her face rain or shine. I loved walking into the clinic and hearing her share beautiful stories of Mark, Halee and Lance. She would provide so much comfort to anyone she interacted with. She always found the humor in all things. When I would hear her laugh all I could think of was how happy she was. She has made an indelible mark on all she came in contact with and even those who just have heard of Nurse Balser. We will truly miss you friend!!

In 2005 my family and I was displaced by hurricane Katrina and we moved to Katy, Tx where it became home for us. I was entering a new school with a new Illness and Ms. BALSER welcomed me with opened arms and NEVER left my side under no circumstance. She helped me tremendously to deal with my Illness in a school setting. She was my Nurse and counselor. She became a big part of my family and held a special place in my heart❤️ always had encouraging words for ANY situation. She hand stitched me a blanket with butterflies because that’s something I love that I STILL have until this day and I’ll FOREVER cherish it now that Ms. BALSER is gone. May your soul REST IN PEACE Ms. BALSER and my condolences to her family🙏🏽🙏🏽 

What a huge loss in our Katy community.  Kelly took care of our son for two years during chemotherapy while attending MRHS. I think he went to her office just to lay around and talk to her.  She was a very special person to me because I knew I was putting him in good hands when he was at school. Praying for your family as I can imagine this is devastating for you all. 

The picture I attached is from my Junior year, I was in an org where we had to give a gift card to our favorite person at school. I’ve known Mrs. Balser ever since my freshman year of high school. We kept our bond throughout my years in school. Even after I graduated I still came to visit her. She had the type of smile & laugh that could automatically make your day better than it was. I thank her for helping me get through the things she helped me with. I remember I would go by her office just to talk to her and ask her how she was. I ate lunch in there a couple times just to catch up with her. She always made not just me but every student feel welcome and she provided such a comforting atmosphere. I thank her for being there for me when I was upset or when I just needed to vent. May her beautiful soul Rest In Peace 🙏🏽. Sending my love & prayers to her family and anyone that she impacted. 

I am so saddened by this news, but it is so heartwarming to see the love the community is sharing for you. Unfortunately, I did not know you, but Mr. Balser was my 7th grade history teacher at MCJH in 2001-2002. He was a joy to have as a teacher, so I'm sure you also were such light you were to the world. I am praying for the entire Balser family. <3

I grew up with chronic pain condition and frequently visited the nurse’s office in school - Nurse Balser was my nurse from 7th grade through 12th grade (minus my freshman year before Morton was built!), and I was a frequent visitor-sometimes without any problems, but just wanted comfort and a chat or hug from the sweetest Nurse on the planet. I also got to spend time with her on wrestling trips! If it weren’t for COVID, you’d probably need more than a professional stadium to fit everyone whose lives she impacted over her career and life. I was lucky enough to visit Nursey a couple of times in adulthood, regrettably not in the last few years, and I wish I would have made it happen. So much love from Sarah Johnston-Cardnell. She impacted my life more than you know! 

Every time I saw Nurse Balser she always had a smile on her face. She was always so energetic and full of life. She had a beautiful soul and her happiness was contagious. It was truly a joy to see her in the halls of MRHS. She took the time to listen and understand my health concerns which I was so grateful for because very few others had truly tried to do so. And, at a time when I was still very new to my panic disorder, she helped me find ways to stay grounded. I still use the methods she told me about and its been 14 years since then. Nurse Balser has had such a calming and joyful impact in my life and I am truly and forever grateful to have met her. 

I'm terribly sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person, nurse, mother, wife and I offer my deepest condolences to her family. 

Even though I have only been at Morton Ranch High School for 3 yrs.,  Nurse Kelly was someone you could not help meeting since she was an integral part in keeping the school healthy.   I will  remember Kelly with her spiritedly, energized walk and  straight posture always running to take care of someone.  Now, God is taking care of her in his heavenly place where she can rest in peace.

Nurse Balser was always there when you needed her , always stood by my side even when I was wrong . She helped me focus on school with her advice and with the right things to say to keep me going , I’ll forever cherish the memories in her office looking up random things on her computer, coming in at random times and hearing her say “Julia ! Go to class, I’ll see you when the bell rings!” Knowing I’ll be back regardless to hang out ! Her words and her smile will forever stay with me & I know she in the arms of the lord happy & heathy again!

I don’t know how to pick just one memory of Nurse Balser. I do know that when I think of her, a smile appears on my face immediately. She always had that innate ability to make you feel good no matter what bad thing was going on in your life at the time. She was like a second mom to me during my high school years, and for some there after. She was not only my nurse, but she was my friend, confidant, cheerleader, therapist, and mentor. The world lost an amazing soul and she will be missed so very much. 

Kelly was kind and caring. She took beautiful care of my students at MRHS. May peace be with her family and my friends at MRHS. ❤️🙏🏻

I have several memories, but the one that stands out to me the most was just how encouraging and awesome she was to me all the time.  Especially during hurricane Harvey.  I worked in her clinic a few days during that time and she helped me a lot (over the phone...we didn’t get the chance to be there at the same time).  At every health services meeting, she greeted me with a smile, we’d talk a bit, laugh a lot, and she’d give me great advice.  She was so awesome.  She will definitely be missed.

My favorite memory with Nurse Balser was at one of our Wrestling practices my senior year 2010/2011 at MRHS. I don’t remember what we talked about but I remember laughing a lot with you and my friends and sister Lauren. You lit up any room you were in and cared for so many. Heaven is a little more brighter with you in it. Thank you blessing so many people.

My fondest memories of her include laughing and smiling while volunteering for MRHS band. Kelly also has been there for my kids on several occasions. She definitely touched our hearts and will be very missed.
