He thought of others and if sick, he sent them a beautiful get well card with one of his special packages of herbal teas. He studied and became proficient in different types of teas from all over the world to learn their medicinal uses for body ailments. Later in life, Charles grew a deep love for the Lord. In obedience to the Word to put God first, he said “The Lord’s Prayer” to start his day. He loved to sing and participated in the church choir for many years which brought great joy and comfort when he was very sick. He had a bulldog faith to live and declare the glory of the Lord. He was passionate about the outdoors and loved plants. He especially liked the Plumeria plant that he first discovered in Hawaii. He loved to garden and plant herbs. He even started a garden when he was so sick and couldn’t take care of himself. He loved birds with his favorite being the Cardinal. He loved animals too and had a “very special dog” named Birdie that he rescued from the pound. Charles also liked sports…especially tennis, which he played in high school. He loved to watch the “Pros” play on TV.
