Carmen Velez

Carmen was born July 16, 1931 in Naranjito, Puerto Rico. Carmen retired from the Chicago Public School system where she worked many years as a teacher’s aide. Carmen loved her family and sought out opportunities for her kids, be it work related or some extracurricular activity outside of the house that brought a smile on their face.

Carmen leaves behind her husband of 69 years Andres Velez, sons, Andres Jr., David, Richard, Elliott, William: Daughters, Carmen (deceased), Lillian, Gladys, and Elizabeth. 27 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. 1 great-great-grandchild and lots of many nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.

Carmen was a loving wife, mother, family member and friend. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Bartholomew Church. She was kind, patient, great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.

The Velez Family would like to give a special thanks to the Featherland and Vantage Hospice and staff who took loving care of her final days of life.

A wake will be held Friday December 10, 2021, between 4-8 pm at Katy Funeral Home 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, Tx. 77494

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am at Katy Funeral Home on December 12, 2021.

Burial will be at 12:00 pm December 12, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Houston, Tx 77077
