one of the greatest men i have ever known!! respect !

After a post on Facebook, many people expressed sadness and condolences. We reminisced about his wonderful personality and love of family.  He was a true inspiration to us all.  It has truly saddened my family to hear of his passing.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time, may God Bless, Carole Keller.

Tony and I were students together at Southern College of Fine Arts and lost touch of each other through the years.  We later renewed our friendship at
the Doyle reunion and started playing together.  He played in my band the
(Jim Siegeler Orchestra) for several years.  Enjoyed going to TMEA with him.
It is with regret that we are unable to attend the funeral.  Hey Tony my friend, rest in peace.

Mr. Sepolio was one of the greatest teachers, mentors and and leaders that I have ever had the honor of knowing. His spirit will live on in all of us who were fortune enough to have had him in our lives.

Mr. Sepolio was my band director and choral director at Warren High School in the seventies. He obviously had a deep love for music and willingly shared that love daily. Moreover, he had a great love for his family and frequently "bragged" on his children.  More than a music teacher, he had a love  of life and constantly encouraged others to love life and live it to the fullest. Having lost touch with him, I was sad to see the obituary, but know that he is truly in a better place.  My prayers are for you to have peace and strength as you go through this time.

Many years ago my brother and I used to play in bands with Tony. I really enjoyed his fiddle playing.  He invited me to stop by his house when I was passing through Hearne. I have no idea why I went to this website tonight. Maybe God was telling me to tell Tony goodbye. His family benefited from a fine man for many years. I hope you cherish memories of him.

Tony Sepolio was my neighbor cross the street. He loved to play his music very loud in his house and in his car. He was always a joy to talk to when we were to met outside.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family

Mr. Sepolio was my band director between 1886-1989. I have so many great memories from a wonderful teacher, generous man and a good soul. My condolences to the entire Sepolio family.

Tony Sepolio came to Buna schools when I was in jr hi. I was never in his band, but many years later as a teacher in Evadale ISD, I was reunited with him. He was such a kind and generous person. Many times on our conference periods, we would jam in his office/band hall playing many of my favorite Bob Wills Western swing tunes. He taught me so much about  how to play guitar on these swing tunes.. Such a great musician and teacher. I will always treasure those great times we had.. Thx Tony

In 1953-54, Mr. Sepolio was my band director at David Crockett Junior High School in Channelview, Texas.  It was his first year as a band director and my first year to play a clarinet.  I don't know how he survived nine months of those piercing noises that I produced on that instrument.  He worked really hard to make us into some kind of cohesive group.  I wish I could say that our progress was in proportion to his effort.  I'm sure he enjoyed June, July, and August of that year.  What a legacy of cherished memories he leaves to you his family.  What a blessing to have had him with you all these years.  May God comfort you with His love and give you peace.

Uncle Tony was very Special to me & my family.He inspired & touched so many lives, especially mine, with his music,& his way of always making you feel better about yourself.I thought of him as a father figure over the years. Your dad was one of a kind, he was a very special person. He was my first band director and after he left I see that he really knew his stuff.  Never forget all the great times we had in band,  Tony, Nanette, Cedric, I am so sorry for your loss he was loved by many,  I am so glad that I got to know your entire family while in Hearne love to all of you and I know he will be missed by many.

Tony was a kind, gentle man whom we were honored to know.  He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.  He made his final journey to be by the side of his Heavenly Father.  He has gone to a better place.  Our thought's and prayer's are with the entire Sepolio family.

Tony was one of my mentors on the fiddle and music in general. Not only did he teach me dozens of songs, but all kinds of fingering tricks, jazz riffs as well as stage presence. The years we spent playing together will always be treasured, as will all the stories he shared. He was one of the true Texas swing pioneers.

Tony was one of kind, a sweet and talented family man. I feel lucky to have known him personally (though sad that living overseas has kept me from seeing him for the last decade), and benefited from his kindness and his enthusiasm -- my life has been greatly enriched by his music. His fiddle playing was unmistakable: inventive, swinging, irresistible. As much as he loved his music, you knew from the moment you met him that his family meant more to him than anything and I know you will all miss him greatly.

May the Holy Spirit comfort the family during this time. Tony was a great fiddle player and friend of many musicians.He will be missed!

Great musician and fiddle player.  We first played together in 1953.  We lost a good friend indeed.

Fond memories of meeting Tony in Austin years ago when he sat in with the Swingsters!  A wonderful musician, full of life.   R.I.P. Tony Sepolio.

God loves western swing and now has one of the best fiddle players ever. A real pleasure to have known and played with him. He was the best!! Prayers to the family and friends. He will be missed by all especially the Still Swinging Band.
