Willie J. Oliver, age 82, of Buckner, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. Services will be held at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation held from 6-8pm on Friday, December 17th. Funeral service held at 10am Saturday, December 18th with committal service following in Blue Springs Cemetery.
Willie was born in Phil Campbell, Alabama on July 4, 1939. He moved to Missouri when he was 18 years old. Willie met his wife, Tonia, in 1980. Willie and Tonia had their only child together, James Dean in 1985. Willie worked several jobs as maintenance mechanic, truck driver, and heavy equipment operator. He retired from Warehouse One in 2010. He did several handyman jobs after retiring from Warehouse One. Willie was the jack of all trades, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Willie moved to Buckner, Missouri in 2010 from Independence, Missouri.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Rona Oliver; Daughter, Lora Oliver; Son, Mark Oliver and his 6 Sisters, Nancy Meier, Gladys Brown, Ola Sims, Ruby Phillips, Evelyn Reily, and Gene Keller.
He survived by his wife of 40 years, Tonia Oliver of Buckner, MO; Son and Daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Charissa Oliver of Buckner, MO; Daughter, Cynthia Heishman of Excelsior Springs, MO; Daughter, Loretta Martinez of Clinton, MO; Willie Oliver Jr. of Clinton, MO; Sister, Opal Allen of Independence, MO; and several grandchildren and great children.
