He was born June 30, 1941. He served as Petty Officer 1st Class in the Navy. He was a sheet metal worker for Johnson Furnace Company for 40 years. He was Past Master 1982 at Ivan hoe 446. He collected fire trucks, statues of firemen, and other miscellaneous fire memorabilia. He spent a lot of time building models. He also collected WWII memorabilia. He loved watching John Wayne movies. Bill Sayles was a kind and loving man, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was predeceased by his father, William V. Sayles, his mother, Gladys (Keaton) Sayles, his sisters, Barbara Sayles, Vickey Thomson, Linda Sayles, and Glenda Higgins. He is survived by his son Douglas V. Sayles and his spouse Cindy A. Sayles, grandchild Dawn M. Jones and her spouse James H. Jones II, great-grandchildren, Chase A. Kluesner, and M. Edward Austin Jr.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Visitation 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131.
