Wanda Jean Roselli, 80, of Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 20th at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Nativity, 3800 West 119th Street, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be Friday, December 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Wanda was born April 17, 1934 in Bland, Missouri. She married Phillip Roselli on September 10, 1960, and together they celebrated 54 years of loving marriage. Together they raised three children, and were blessed with numerous grandchildren, and an abundance of love.
Wanda graduated from the University of Iowa in 1956, and was a life-long fan of her Hawkeyes. She also loved cruising, and together with Phillip they travelled and saw the world. Wanda also loved the world right outside her window, whether that window was a view to a palette of vivid leaves on a crisp Michigan autumn day, the majestic beauty of the soaring Four Peaks in Phoenix, or the birds sunning themselves on a summer morning at Tallgrass Creek here in Overland Park. She loved Christmas and the holiday season. More than anything, though, she loved her family. She was a compassionate caregiver for years to her mother, Opal, and nurtured her husband and her children through all of life’s bumps and bruises. Her family was her passion, and no matter where life found her, Wanda was never happier than when she had her children, and her grandchildren, gathered around her. And so, even in passing, Wanda would take the greatest joy in knowing that she once again brought her family together, this time, to celebrate and remember her life.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Phelps, and her granddaughter, Jillian, daughter of Jean and Tom.
She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip, her children, Philip Roselli and his wife Terri of Littleton, Colorado, Jean Drees and her husband Tom, of Lambertville, Michigan, and Daniel Roselli and his wife Sara, of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by her many adoring grandchildren, Nathan, Joseph, Anna, Nicholas, Jason, Amanda, John, Maya, Abby and Billy.
