Mr. Thomas Richard Edwards

Thomas Richard Edwards, age 86, of Raymore MO, passed away Monday, October 28th, 2024. He was born December 5th, 1937, in Kansas City, MO. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary and two brothers: Gerry and Steve Edwards.

Tom is survived by his children: Diann Bonner and Tom F. Edwards; son in-law Eric Bonner and daughter in-law Amy Edwards; five grandchildren: Beth Cook, Sara Bonner, Kaitlyn, Paxton and Kendall Edwards; two grandson in-laws: Gabe Cook and Stuart Washington; three great-grandchildren: Charles and Dean Cook and Sylvan Washington; brother Jack and sister in-law Faye Edwards; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tom grew up in Kansas City MO, married is high school sweetheart and settled in Independence MO to raise their family. As a young man he proudly served in the National Guard for ten years. Tom spent most of his career as a foreman at a company responsible for rebuilding automotive parts. He was also a rather skilled woodworker to which he built furniture, decks and many other structures. He enjoyed the outdoors by gardening and fishing. His favorite pass time, however, was bird watching.

Tom was a very kind and giving man who was always willing to help family and friends in any situation in any way he could. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Tom will be held Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, along with graveside and military honors from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kanas City. MO 64133.
