Suzanne M. Davidson

On January 10th, 2022, we lost our sweet and perfect sister Suzanne Mary Davidson, affectionately known as Sue, Susie, Susie Q, or just the Q. We laid her to rest on Friday, January 21st, 2022. She was placed into our mother's grave where she now rests in peace.

She was a beautiful light and influenced many of our friends who had never been exposed to a mentally disabled person. Susie was non-verbal and was limited to a certain set of sounds but that sure didn't keep her from expressing herself! She was loving, feisty, funny and had a wonderful memory. She would rush to the arms of cousins or friends that she may not have seen in 20 years. She attended the State Training Center in Kansas City when she was school age and upon her graduation she received the award for Most Friends at school. In recent years she has lived in a group home and enjoyed field trips to Powell Gardens, the KC Zoo, bowling and on many picnics and outings. Her favorite thing was going places and being around people. She loved music, Coca-Cola, car rides and funny TV shows.

She was feisty and had a great sense of humor, like the time our dad was in the driveway washing the car and she grabbed the hose and soaked him. Or the time we convinced my mom to let a couple of us kids take her to the store with us. She slipped our grasp, ran to the Coke aisle and threw a huge fit when we told her she couldn't have it. She sat down on the floor and screamed. We almost had to carry her out while we were hysterically laughing and people were glaring at us. My mom calmly and rightfully said "I told you so" when we got home and told her what happened.

Susie had asthma and developed Parkinson's the last few years. This made swallowing difficult which contributed to numerous bouts of pneumonia resulting in hospital stays. These factors along with recent dementia contributed to her death. She passed in her sleep in her own bed and we are grateful for that.

She blessed our lives so deeply and is now whole and in the loving arms of our mom, dad and the many who have entered the gates of Heaven before us.
