Sidney B. Kiely, known affectionately as Sid, peacefully passed away at the age of 94. Born in California, Missouri, to Blake and Florence Kiely, Sid led a life filled with warmth, charm, and kindness.
A devoted husband of over 71 years to his beloved wife, Rebul, their love story was a testament to commitment and enduring companionship. He was a source of inspiration to his three children and their spouses, Beth and Bill Widdoes, Steve and Lisa Kiely, and Kim and Mike Hinck, as well as seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A longtime proud resident of Springfield, Missouri, and State Farm agent, Sid embraced the community with open arms. An involved member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Sid's faith was a cornerstone of his life.
Sid held a deep appreciation for the outdoors—whether by the river, on the lake, or at the beach. His love for nature extended to the golf course, where he found joy in the company of others. Watching sports, tending to his tomato garden and firing up the grill were among his many pleasures.
With a charismatic presence that lit up any room, Sid's genuine smile and positive outlook left an enduring mark on those around him. His memory will be cherished by family and friends, and his spirit will continue to inspire generations.
A celebration of Sid’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local Hospice service or charity of your choice.
May he rest in peace.
