Shirley A. Fisk, born December 11, 1934, of Weslaco, Texas, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri passed away September 9, 2023.
Shirley graduated from Washington High School in 1953.
While honing her bowling skills at a local bowling alley, Shirley met her future husband of 36 years James (Jim) Stanton Fisk. Shirley and Jim were married March 20,1954 at the Grinter House in Kansas City, Kansas. Together they welcomed two sons, Stan and Mark.
Shirley was a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed cooking for her family scrumptious meals which she had fine-tuned to an art. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, arts and crafts of all kinds, and relished decorating her home with her creations for the holidays.
Despite her eyesight challenges Shirley loved to read. She enjoyed novels and through the newspaper kept current on daily affairs.
As her boys grew, Shirley entered the workforce as a food service manager for the Kansas City North School District and retired from the district.
Shirley had a great love for dogs and cats and enjoyed the company of many throughout her life. Most especially remembered is Lucy, a golden retriever, as she accompanied Shirley on her move to Texas. Often, the two could be seen perusing the park on their way to the swimming pool, mailbox, and activity center. She also brought her love of the Kansas City Chiefs to Texas.
Shirley is pre-deceased by her Husband Jim Fisk; survived by her Children: Stan Fisk and Mark Fisk (Teresa) Sister: Mary Westfall (Bill) Grandchildren: Jacob Fisk, Jenna Fisk and Sam Fisk; Memories remain of cherished pets.
