Scott was born on December 2, 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri to Joseph F. and Barbara (Boatwright) Page. Scott grew up like most midwest kids did: riding bikes, playing games, playing at the creek, and doing anything outside until the street lights came on and he was forced to go home. He played baseball, football, and basketball as a child. He went to Raytown High where he had many friends and a rich social life.
Even though Scott earned a Bachelor of Education from Missouri State University in 1994, he quickly realized that teaching was not for him and began his career as a railroad engineer. He took pride in his occupation and served BNSF for 28 years. Scott loved to hunt, fish, and loved anything to do with the water. He had great memories of his time in Alaska, the Lake of the Ozarks and his college days where he made lifelong friendships.
Scott was a diehard Chiefs and Royals fan - even when they sucked! He never lost faith that they would pull through and was as excited as a toddler when opening days came around. He loved animals (especially the dog variety) and all kinds of music - from heavy metal to country to rap. He loved going to concerts and playing games (especially video and trivia). Because of his humility, not many knew of the depth of his intelligence, but he was incredibly sharp.
Although Scott never served in the Armed Forces, he held great love and respect for service members and Veterans. He was proud of this country, and his grandfathers’ service and he continued to honor them long after they were gone.
Scott deeply loved his family and was fiercely loyal. He was full of life and lit up any room that he walked into. His stories, humor, and quick wit would immediately capture anyone’s heart along with his humble sincerity and love for life. To know him was to love him. He was an incredible son, big brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Scott passed way too soon but he lived his life large and to the fullest, always with a smile on his face. He leaves an everlasting example to all that life is to be enjoyed. He will be missed beyond measure.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Page, grandparents Marvin and Norma Boatwright, grandparents Howard and Francis Page, and uncle and aunt Marvin Ray and Linda Boatwright. Scott was survived by his mother, Barbara (Boatwright) Page, sister Shellie Hill (Brian), niece Lauren Hill, ex-wife Ronny Page, uncle and aunt Kenneth and Diane Boatwright, uncle and aunt David and Alice Boatwright, great uncle and aunt Larry and Beverly Colvin, and beloved cousins Aaron Mishou, Adam Boatwright, Addison Boatwright, Lindsay Conrad, Ashley Boatwright, Jason Boatwright, and Brett Boatwright.
A celebration of life will be held on July 30th from 5-close at Johnny’s Tavern, 1660 SE Blue Parkway, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. Any memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Scott’s name.
