Robert “Bob” Thomas Weatherholt, 86, Overland Park, KS, passed away July 13, 2015. Memorial service will be 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Inurnment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Bob was born July 26, 1928 in Kansas City, MO, son of Jennings “Jack” Bryan and Pauline L. (Armstrong) Weatherholt. He graduated from Central High School in 1945 and from the University of Kansas B.S. in Business 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Coral Sea following WWII. Bob married Barbara L. Sharp in 1948. He was a member of East Gate Masonic Lodge No. 630 more than 50 years; member of Sertoma Club of Kansas City; Bronze Life Master and member of Unit 131 of ACBL District 15; and 40 year member of Milburn Golf & Country Club.
Bob began his career in sales with Marsh Steel of Kansas City. After nine years in sales management roles. Bob and his partner founded Olander-Weatherholt, Inc. sales agency and enjoyed nearly 30 years in the industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of almost 44 years Barbara; and brother Laurence E. Weatherholt. Bob is survived by his children Laurence D. Weatherholt (Kathy), Leigh A. Mutert (Dave), and Dr. Nancy D. Weatherholt (Dr. Reynold Simpson); sister Jacqueline Recknagel; grandchildren Kate Diaz, Spencer Weatherholt, Emilie Mutert, Andrew Mutert, Ted Mutert, Mary Weatherholt, Rob Simpson and Will Simpson; extended family and friends.
