Bob was born June 15, 1930, to Frank J. and Cecelia “Willie” Vogl in Kansas City. He was a life-long resident of Kansas City. Bob graduated from Hogan High School and then served in the U.S. Coastguard. He met Rosemary Bertrand at a dance at Redemptorist Parish. They were married on June 4, 1955. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Rockhurst College. For many years, he was employed with Dutch Boy. Bob was an entrepreneur during his later years, including starting his own lawn service. He was a kind individual, who never met a stranger, and a genuine person. Bob loved to be active and had many interests. He had his pilot’s license, built a boat and dune buggy, and even hang glided. He enjoyed snow skiing and scuba diving well into his 80s. Bob was always an adventurer who especially loved playing games, swimming and having fun with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Rosemary; three children, Brian Vogl, Diane Marsh and husband, Scott, and Megan Williams and husband, Spurgeon; six grandchildren, Robert Marsh, Christopher Marsh, Gabriel Williams, Joseph Marsh, Thomas Marsh, and Madelyn Williams. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jonathan Vogl, William Vogl, and Eleanor Nesbitt.
Committal services, with military honors, is scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
