Robert O. Raupp, 94, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away June 29, 2015. Visitation will held on Thursday, July 2nd from 9-10 am, with funeral services starting at 10:00 am at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial follows immediately afterward at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Bob was born December 5, 1920, in Kansas City, Missouri, the fourth child of Phillip and Aneita Raupp, who predecease him. His brothers Max, George, Jack and Philip, and his sister, Dorothy, also predecease him. Bob graduated from Paseo High School. He was a World War II veteran, and served in Patton’s 10th Armored Division. Bob saw combat in the Ardennes Forest; the Battle of the Bulge; Bastogne, Belgium; France and Germany. On August 26, 1946, Bob married Beverly Jean (Smith) Raupp. They raised their family together in Mission, Kansas. Beverly, who passed away in 1995, was the love of Bob's life.
Bob worked for the Bendix Corporation for 32 years. During that time, he also earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at UMKC. He was a city councilman in Mission for 10 years, and a longtime member of Countryside Christian Church.
Bob is survived by his three daughters: Sue (Dave) Boone, Cheryl Smith and Cindy (Jim) Giddings and their families. One brother, Neal Raupp, also survives him. Bob had a beautiful family of nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, all loved and adored. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice.
