Bob Jackson, 78, of Kansas City, MO. passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. A Celebration of His Life and Gathering will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29th at McGilley State Line Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 6400 Prospect Ave. Suite 300 B, Kansas City, MO 64132.
Bob was born December 20, 1936 in Kansas City, MO. to Robert M. and Dorothy L. (Moore) Jackson. He graduated from Southwest High School. While attending KU he was enrolled in ROTC, and was Proctor at Battenfeld Scholarship Hall. He graduated from KU with a degree in Business Administration. He joined the U.S. Navy as a Disbursement Officer and served for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Commander. His first job was with Allstate where he met his future wife, Rosemary Mullen. They had an instant friendship and a bond that they would share for over 52 years. They were married March 23, 1963 at Visitation Church. Together they raised three boys. He was General Manager of Athco, and Vice President at Fairplay Scoreboards until he retired. He enjoyed traveling, Scotland, bagpipes, going out to dinner, history, reading and his get togethers with his Navy buddies. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Bob’s kind heart, generous soul, giving nature, excellent sense of humor, and huge warm smile will be missed.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Tom Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary; sons, Doug (Melissa) Jackson and Rob (Beth) Jackson; Grandchildren, Kate, Greta, Trey and Eli.
