He was married to Dean Osborn (Kilpatrick) on February 2nd, 1947, until her death February 3rd 1993. They had three children, Janet, Phillip and Karen. Ray was married to Wanda Osborn (Clift) on October 6th, 1993 until her death January 25th, 2018.
Ray joined the US Army on February 19th, 1945 as a rifleman. He was honorably discharged December 13th, 1946. He began working for the Kansas City Power and Light on August 4th, 1947. He retired after 40 years of service on January 1st, 1987.
Ray received his first 3 degrees in Freemasonry in the Grandview Masonic Lodge. He joined the Scottish Rite and became a 32nd Degree mason. He was initiated and walked the Hot Sands of the Ararat Shrine. Ray was Past High Priest of Royal Arch Masons Grandview Chapter 145 and Past Worshipful Master of Harry Truman Lodge 679.
Ray and Dean joined the Grandview Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Ray became Worthy Patron of that chapter. He was then appointed to the line of the Missouri Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and became Worthy Grand Patron in 1986. He remained a member of the East Gate 367 Chapter.
Ray was preceded in death by both Dean and Wanda as well as his daughter Janet Osborn Humphrey. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Ray is survived by his children Phillip Osborn (Marva), Karen Sims (Jeff) and his brothers; Glen Osborn (Shirley), Darrell Osborn and Danny Osborn (Bonnie). Surviving grandchildren are; Joanna Demers (Brian), Michael Humphrey, Andria Avellino (Keith), Justine Moriarty (Matt), Tony Ginestra (Caitlin), Kerri Swick and Sean Sims (Shelby). Ray had 10 great-grandchildren.
