Ray E. Knight

Ray E. Knight, age 81, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on September 23, 2015. Funeral at 10AM on Tuesday Sept. 29 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Visitation 5-7PM on Monday. Burial at Floral Hills East, Lee’s Summit.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, a son-in-law, a daughter, and a brother. He is survived by his wife Donna; 5 children Jeani (Donna) Smith, Vicki Knight-Takacs, Russ Knight, Lucy Knight, Ionela Ababei; 9 grandchildren Jason Smith, Jerid Smith, Jonathan Smith, Shawn Middaugh, Damien Middaugh, Dustin Wooden, Shannon Ironwing, Emilio Zamora, Fabian Ababei, with 1 on the way Ariana Ababei; 12 great grandchildren; as well as many cousins.

Ray hosted 17 exchange students from around the world. He appreciated the many wonderful letters that they sent him and enjoyed visiting them on his travels around the world. Ray loved to restore old house and liked to fish. He retired from TWA after 34 years as a mechanic. Ray was a born-again Christian, and he loved serving the Lord, especially when he was teaching Sunday School.

Ray’s family would like to thank Ascend Hospice for their love and dedication, especially Sara, Carrie, Lorianne, Susan, Doug, Jean, Lisa, Dawn, Michelle, Rochelle, Jill, and Abby.
