Paula Ann Wessling Ziegler, 51, Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Saint Luke’s Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 5, at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4101 E. 105th Terrace, Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday August 4 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to International Life Services, 2606 ½ W. 8th, Los Angeles, CA 90057.
Paula was born April 15, 1959, in Kansas City, MO, to James L . and Elizabeth J. Wessling. She graduated from O’Hara High School in 1977. On March 27, 1980, she married James R. Ziegler of Kansas City, MO. They had three children together and she spent most of her time as a devoted stay at home mom. She was a caring wife, loving mother, and “rock star” grandmother. As a family, they all loved to travel and enjoyed anything outdoors. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Paula was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jim, son, Jimmy; two daughters, Jennifer and husband Andrew; Katie and husband Jon; her father Jay Wessling, Sr.; her sister Mary Beth Cox: her two brothers Jay and Matt Wessling; and two grandchildren Elizabeth and Caleb Barchers. She was the most selfless woman who touched so many lives. She will be greatly missed and she always loved a good campfire.
