Pamela Sue Borden went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at the age of 59. Her profoundly peaceful passing took place in Grandview, MO, at the home she shared with her husband, Victor B. Borden. Her struggle with early-onset dementia was complete as she went into the presence of God.
Pam was born to Harlan and Betty Holter on May 21, 1956, in Tillamook, OR. She grew up in Vancouver, WA, having graduated from high school in 1974, and immediately entered active duty in the U.S. Navy. She was a Vietnam War era veteran, serving as an operating room technician in U.S. Navy hospitals. Pam married her husband Vic in 1978 while they were both on active duty. Once discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1980, they came to Kansas City together to begin college. At that point they both enlisted as active reservists in the U.S. Air Force.
In God’s providence, He led Pam and Vic to Red Bridge Baptist Church. This has been their church home for most all of the past 35 years! Pam Borden served in too many capacities to name; but, was most notably the “first lady”/pastor’s wife for the past 22 years.
Pam was preceded in death by her brother, Lonnie (as a newborn), and by her mother, Betty. She is survived by: her husband, Vic; her children, Adam (Rachel) Borden, Suzy (Wes) Hurless, Betsy (Chris) Brennan, and Priscilla Borden; her grandsons, Beau and Caleb Brennan; her father, Harlan Holter; her brothers and sister (and their families) Dan Holter, Dale Holter, and Angela Pierce.
Pam Borden was a committed follower and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. She is safely home for eternity with Him!
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, at Red Bridge Baptist Church, 4901 E. Red Bridge Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137. Private burial in Higginsville, MO.
