Nancy Ann Norman

Nancy was born August 28, 1940, in Kansas City to Helen and Arnold Norman. She graduated from Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley, Colorado with a degree in education. She coached swimming at the University of California at Santa Barbara. She furthered her education with a master's degree at the University of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona and coached swimming at Central Michigan.

Nancy’s two loves were her family and dogs. She spent her retirement years doing what she loved most which was dog sitting for numerous families. She loved to travel to visit her family in Birmingham, Alabama and her sister’s family in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Norman of Birmingham, Alabama.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Gaye Norman; and their two children, Brad Norman and wife Kelly, and Jamie Rains and her husband Greg and their families. She is also survived by her brother, William Norman of Kansas City; and his two sons, Christopher and Michael and wife Mandy and family; her twin sister, Norma Mungen from Houston Texas; and her two children, Scott Miller and wife Tammy, and Kelley Bartek and husband Craig. She is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.

A Visitation for Nancy will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
