Nancy Sue Hays

Born to Carl & Nora (Tidwell) Dowdy on July 15, 1939 in Calloway County Kentucky, she was the youngest of five siblings. She began 51 years of marital bliss with Eddie R. Hays (deceased) on April 12, 1959. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, quilter, baker, Sunday school & Children’s Church teacher, ministry bus driver. She was a beloved member of Kansas City Baptist Temple and then Lee’s Summit Baptist Temple. She enjoyed music, nature, and traveling the United States. Born in the Great Depression Era, she came from humble beginnings but took great pride in her Kentucky heritage.

She leaves behind her sister Connie Cooper, daughters Kathy (Dennis) Lafaver of Visalia, CA, Brenda (Brian) Kinkade of Columbia, MO, and son Chris (Melissa) Hays of Lee’s Summit, MO, nine grandchildren: John (Stefanie), Amy, Brad, Andrew, Emily, Jessica, William, Josie, & Levi, two great grandchildren: April & Allison, and other beloved family.

Visitation will be held from 9-10am, Saturday, November 12, 2022 with services to follow at Lee’s Summit Baptist Temple. 2614 N.W. Chipman Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Interment to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
