Nellie LaVerne Simpson, 99, Raymore, Missouri passed away March 16, 2017. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at the Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman funeral home, followed by Order of Eastern Star Service. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Nellie LaVerne was born February 1, 1918 in Douthat, Oklahoma, daughter of Boyd C. and Carrie E. (Goodhue) Reasor. She had worked as a seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband A. Rex Simpson, daughter Betty Werner, brothers Leo, Boyd and Leroy Reasor, sisters Cora Barnes, Carrie Barnes and Thelma Hollar, grandchildren Linda Werner Sims and Todd Miller. Nellie LaVerne is survived by her sons Arnold Simpson (Karen) and Boyd Simpson (Marian); daughters Lori Simpson-Pierone (Debbi) and Jeanette Riley (Forrest); son in law Frank Werner; brother Jack Reasor; grandchildren Betty Werner (David Zibello), Wesley Miller (Kim), Robert Werner (Silvia) and Alex Simpson (Phillip); four great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
