A Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am on Thursday, June 7 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
Michael was born on March 14, 1947 in Red Bud, Illinois to Edwin and Ethel Weber. He graduated from Red Bud High School in 1966. He was married to Beverly Wiegand on August 1, 1970.
Michael had a distinguished career in the US Air Force as a firefighter for over 20 years. As the Assistant Chief for Training, he completely reorganized the training program into one of the best in the USAFE. During his time in the Air Force, he earned these awards: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal, Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation, Outstanding Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Longevity Service Award Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Grad Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired in 1987.
Michael loved gardening and landscaping. He was an avid collector of music in all its forms.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Beverly Weber, his son David Weber, his daughter Heather (Jeff) Rabideaux, grandchildren, Alex, Devan, Gage & Morgan, brother Milton Weber and sisters Judy Horrell and Marilyn Oettle.
