Mike graduated from Southeast Consolidated High School in Stella, Nebraska. He went on to graduate from Northwest Missouri State University. He worked as a database administrator at Children International. Mike loved watching all sports, particularly his beloved Chicago Bears. He was an avid bicyclist and participated in a century ride in 2014. He loved the mountains and vacationing with his family in Colorado. He was a deacon and member of Crossroads Church in Grain Valley, Missouri.
Mike was not one to be the “center of attention.” He was a gifted sidekick. He was the first to assist, encourage, and support others. Mike deeply impacted the lives and the spiritual walk of his friends. He spoke truth when it was necessary and yet did it in such a soft and subtle tone that you loved him for it and welcomed more. He was always one to dismiss credit for the things he’d done and yet the first to give props to others. He walked in humility, sacrificial generosity and in the footsteps of Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his father, David Skinner; and step-father, Gary Lhamon.
He is survived by his wife, Heidi; two sons, Robbie and Sammy; mother, Jill Lhamon; sister, Kristan Patrick; step-brother, Brian (Vonda) Lhamon; a niece, Erin; a nephew, Braeden; and his mother-in-law Linda Murry.
