Menford “Bud” Lee Cale, II, 67, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from Noon-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Bud was born on March 18, 1946 to Mildred E. (Price) Cale and Menford Lee Cale in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Southeast High School in 1964, attended Missouri State University and graduated in 1969 with a B.S. degree in Business Marketing.
In 1991 he began work as a National Director at the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Headquarters in his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. While employed there he was the initial Chairman of the Board of the VFW Credit Union which later merged with the Pentagon Federal Credit Union. He also served on the Design Committee of the 100th Anniversary Centennial Plaza Memorial at the headquarters at Linwood and Broadway.
Bud was a Legacy Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He was also a member of the American Legion, and of the Missouri State University Alumni Association.
Surviving family members include his wife, Phyllis Cale and sons Brett and Brandon Cale; stepsons Adam and Aaron (Darcie) Jones; grandson Kaiden Jones; and sister Ann Watts (Ron Willnow).
