He was born on June 22, 1931 in Lee’s Summit, MO, an only child born to Warren and Mae Miller.
At the age of 7, he moved to a farm in Louisburg, MO. Here Melvin attended and graduated from the local schools. He also attended MU.
Melvin was employed at Keystone Trailer and Equipment Co. in the accounting and parts department. Following this, he was employed by Blue Ridge Mall Montgomery Ward. Here he worked in middle level management and retired after 25 years.
Melvin and Marie were married October 4, 1957 in Kansas City, MO.
Melvin was a Mason and an active member of the Blue Ridge Mall Optimist Club. He enjoyed smooth jazz, repairing and selling anything and everything, he was master of orchestrating and organizing events, and very successful at growing flowers and tomatoes.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Marie, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as many friends. Memorial contributions may be sent to Ronald McDonald House & Blue Ridge Mall Optimist Club.
