We are saddened to announce the death of our son, Matthew Stephen Gillespie. We are so relieved that Matt has been released from his addiction and now resides in the loving embrace of his Lord and Savior.
Matt was born July 30, 1979, to Nancy Jo McCracken Gillespie Lyngar and the late Steve Gillespie. He died in Hospice Care at Liberty Hospital on November 24th, 2022. Matt is survived by his mother and father, Frank and Nancy Lyngar, his sisters Carrie Ryerson and Maegan Blake (Doug), his nieces and nephews Dylan Ryerson, Taylor Ryerson (Garrett), Jolyn Blake, and Dane (Happy) Blake, and his great niece Blakely Hewlett.
He was greeted in Heaven by his Grandparents, Billie and Jim McCracken, Jane and Hugh Gillespie, Charles and Eva Lyngar, and Sue and Frank Crank.
A special thanks to Matt’s friends Jenny and Eric. Matt hung on until they came to see him. After they had a shared their Matt stories, he must have sensed that his earthly journey was complete. Maybe it was Matt’s final way of thanking them for their love and support.
Matt will be buried beside his father, Stephen Edward Gillespie, in a graveside service.
The family thanks you for all your expressions of sympathy and kindness.
