Mary Lou wore many hats throughout her life: daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, realtor, bar owner, land developer, caretaker, world traveler, and preneed funeral planner. A Jack of many trades, she was not one to settle for simple. She enjoyed everything life had to offer, embracing her passions for travel, adventure, dirty jokes, KC Chiefs football, reading, good food, good cocktails and good company. More than anything, she cherished her late husband Robert “Bob” Ragar and her six grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Mary Lou loved to brag and share pictures of her grandbabies with anyone and everyone.
Survivors include her daughters, Christine (Chris) Allard, Jennifer (Todd) Shelton, Kelly (Erich) Klotz; six grandchildren, Patrick, Avery, William, Erich Jr., Evan, and Emmett; sisters, Eileen Fields, Kathy Brown; brother, Tommy Joe Duggins; Niece, Jamie Casares; Nephew, Sean Fields. And many many friends over the years.
The family would like to thank Rachel Nadon, MSN, FNP of University Health Lakewood Medical Center and Crown Hospice of Jackson, MO for their compassion and support during this difficult time.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert Ragar.
A celebration of life will be held from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm on Friday, July 5 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. A private family placement will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
