Mary Ellen Wilks Noonan

Mary Ellen (Wilks) Noonan, 80, Kansas City, Missouri, died March 6, 2010 at her lake vacation home in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. Memorial Mass will be held at 12noon Saturday, March 13, at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Mrs. Noonan was born December 13, 1929 in Evanston, Illinois. After graduating in St. Louis, Missouri from Webster Groves High School, Mary received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mary worked at McDonald-Douglas and Washington University. Mary married John Noonan in 1958 and settled in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a long time member of the Carriage Club and Visitation Catholic Church. She was on the Board of the George H. Nettleton Home, Fireside and the KC Junior Tennis League. Her life-long interests were her family, her dogs and tennis. She was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Arch P. Wilks. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, John C. Noonan; her loving daughter Ann Ellen and her son-in-law Steven Thompson; four grandchildren Stephen, Christopher, Abigail and Madeline; cousin Joyce Paleen; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
