Funeral services are 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 4th, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. Graveside services are 1:30 PM Thursday, October 13th, at the Leavenworth National Cemetery where Mary will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert Mulvaney. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Children’s Ministry at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2013; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Mulvaney in 2021; a sister, Joann Michael in 2022; and 4 brothers, Ralph Lowery, Donald Lowery, Paul Lowery, and Leo Lowery.
Mary was born July 7, 1932 to William M. and Anna R. (Pugh) Spinner in Trenton, MO where she grew up. Later she moved to Princeton, MO and graduated from Princeton High School. In 1950 she married Robert Mulvaney. They spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force traveling and raising a family. They retired to the Kansas City area in 1970. At the age of 40 Mary entered nurses training and begin her career as a LPN until her retirement. For the next 10 years she volunteered in the surgery waiting area of North Kansas City Hospital. For many years Robert and Mary enjoyed their retirement at the Lake of the Ozarks where they made many friends. Mary and Robert enjoyed life to the fullest.
Mary is survived by two sons, Michael Mulvaney and Mark (Vickie) Mulvaney; 5 grandchildren, Jason Mulvaney, Amber (Mike) Walker, Bryan (Sara) Mulvaney, Trisha Mulvaney and Clinton Dorsey; 9 great grandchildren, Allison (Cameron) Harrison, Carmen Harrison, Jaxon Mulvaney, Kaidan Mulvaney, Ashlyn Walker, Hadleigh Walker, Bria Walker, Jolie Walker, and Madison Mulvaney.
