Mary Elizabeth Kirby

Mary Elizabeth (George) Kirby, 64 of Gravois Mills, (formerly of Raytown, Missouri) passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 26, 2022. She was born in Kansas City Missouri on February 6, 1958, the daughter of Gene and Frances (Puttman) George. She grew up in Raytown, Missouri and graduated from Raytown South Senior High.

She was the beloved mother to 3 children from previous marriage to Robert Dale Jones. On October 27, 2007 she was united in marriage to David Lynn Kirby in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. Following their marriage they made their home in Gravois Mills, Missouri.

Mary Beth’s first job was held at Taco Bell in Raytown. Then she entered her law firm career working for Walters Bender Law Firm, Buckley and Mitchel Law Firm, and Forland Wicken’s Law Firm. Finishing her career as a Paralegal at Bergmanis Law Firm, LLC Attorneys at Law, retiring in April of 2022 with over 46 years of legal experience.

Mary Beth was well known for taking the lead on the dance floor and had a love for all genres of music. She was an avid sports fan, “Go Chiefs”, and was often seen attending her grand children’s athletics. She enjoyed glazing ceramics, sewing, decorating cakes, playing games with her “Ma”, and a number of other hobbies she was very talented at. But her true passion was spending time with family and friends.

Mary Beth was preceded in death by her father, D. Gene George and her brother, Darrell Gene George. She is survived by her husband David of the home, two sons, Robert “Bobby” Gene Jones, Michael Dale Jones both of Kansas City, Missouri and one daughter, Theresa Elizabeth Jones of Lincoln, Missouri, 11 grandchildren, Ashley, Blake, Dominic, Logan, Ben, Ashlee, Darren, Charlize, Paxton, Gunnar and Stella and 4 great grandchildren, Oliver, Caelum, Asher and Tony. She also leaves one sister, Heather (George) Keuper and her husband Brian Keuper of Lincoln, Missouri. Many cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 1 p.m. at 8303 Kentucky Raytown, MO 64138
