Mark Douglas Bossert was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 19, 1957. He was the second child of Albert L. Bossert and Shirley Wilson Rickett. Mark attended St. Gabriel's school and graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1976.
During high school, he worked part-time at a local pancake house as a waiter, and then cook. He also worked at a local gas station and his father's business, Bossert’s Auto.
Mark achieved status as an ASE Certified Master Technician, while working two jobs. In 1985 he started Bossert’s Automotive, Inc. from the ground up. Here are Marks own words;
“I moved out at 17, put myself through my last year of high school. I earned and bought my first bicycle , my first car. Paid all my bills without any help. Worked 2 jobs. I started my business, with just me ,the wife, and a baby in a crib. Worked 7 days a week and 12 hours a day for the first year. Had no lifts, did everything on the floor. Jacks and jack stands. After a year of this, bought my first rack and hired my first employee. In today's world, excuses and blame seem easier than just plain old hard work.”
Then in 1997, he partnered with his trusted friend David Horrocks, to create B & H Automotive and Body Shop, Inc. Together they have served the Northland, as one of the most trusted automotive repair facilities.
In 2014, after a prestigious enlistment in the Navy, Mark was thrilled for his son Brendon to return home, and once again work along side him.
Mark was a respected businessman for over three decades, known for his honesty, integrity, and pride. He was outgoing, extremely intelligent, passionate, logical, charismatic and enjoyed a good party.
He is survived by his father, Al Bossert and stepmother Robbie Rice Rothman, mother Shirley Rickett and stepfather Charles Rickett. His beloved son, Mark Brendon Bossert (Jessica), and two adored grandchildren, Mark Dean 7, and Emelie 5, stepdaughter Amanda Patel (Jimmy) and four grandchildren. His four siblings, Toby Bossert (Heather), Melinda Bossert, Paul Bossert, Amy Graves (Alan), and many loved cousins, nephews and nieces.
The loss Mark is a void in this world never to be filled.
