Marit Olaug Liset Kehr passed away on May 7th, 2016 at the age of 75. She died from natural causes while surrounded by family. She was the dearly beloved wife of Robert Webster, a VietNam veteran, for 44 years, and fiercely loving mother of seven children, all of whom will deeply miss her.
Marit was born on February 28th, 1941 to Haakon and Petrine Liset in Vigra, Norway during World War II, where she remembered the Nazi occupation as a young girl. She actually did ski two miles to school as a child. After graduating from a sewing school in Oslo, she immigrated to the United States at age 25. She later attended Brigham Young University where she met her husband. Marit will be remembered by many friends and family for her amazing skills at creating beautiful clothes and sweaters that will be treasured by all who have received them.
Marit was preceded in death by her parents and brother Olav. She is survived by her husband, Robert Webster Kehr, children, John (Jenny) Kehr, Patricia (Troy) Haney, James (Jennie) Kehr, Margene (Jason) Furnell, Thomas Kehr, Martha (Dustin) Kehr, and William (Natalie) Kehr along with twenty-six grandchildren and one great grandson. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Olaug in Norway, and Hilde in the Netherlands, and many nieces and nephews. Marit will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 12th, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 21515 W. 101st Street, Lenexa, Kansas 66220.
