On October 21, 2022, Maria Isabel Parra, beloved wife and mother of three, passed away at age 59. Maria, born to Benito and Esperanza (Luna) Pulido on November 17, 1962, grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She studied at The University of Missouri, earning a Bachelor's and Masters in Social Work. She worked as a Medical Case Manager at University Health (Truman Medical Center) for 23 years.
At 36, Maria married Patrick Parra on April 10, 1999, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was proud of her and Patrick’s three beautiful children, Catherine, Benjamin, and Elizabeth. Maria was devoted to her family, friends, and work. She always had the brightest smile and truly cared about what one had to say. Maria had a generous spirit and always put others' needs before her own. She was the most caring mother, ensuring her children were safe and happy. Her children were her world, and she would do anything for them. Maria was a wonderful devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone she met. She had the best sense of humor and would always find a way to make light of any situation. Maria was very easygoing, and in her free time, she enjoyed most hanging out at home with her pets, playing games, and watching the latest show or movie. Her favorite cat, Tiger, was always at her side as she cooked, cleaned, napped, gardened, or took care of any business. Maria’s bright soul will be with us forever.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Esperanza Pulido. Maria is survived by her loving family, husband, Pat Parra; children, Catherine, Benjamin, and Elizabeth; two brothers, Salvador Luna and Daniel Pulido; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
