Lois Comer Wright passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2023, at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Lois was born on December 6th, 1932, to Mabel (Ballard) and Nicholess Archie Comer. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Central High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Harold Eldon Wright in December 1952. Lois’ life was centered around her family and her faith. She served as church secretary at the Bear Valley Church of Christ in Denver, Colorado, taught Bible classes to multiple generations of children and helped design Bible School Curriculum at Red Bridge Church of Christ in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years and her brother, Bill. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Treece, and two daughters, Sheri Thomas (Michael), Lee’s Summit, MO, and Debie Pugsley (Scott), Lee’s Summit, MO. Lois was a loving Grandma to five grandchildren, Jill Turner (Greg), Stephen Thomas (Yvonne), Tricia Thomas, Jenna Phelps (Chelsea) and Lara Pugsley. Lois also treasured her role as “Grammy” to five great-grandchildren, Alala, Mason, Henry, Corbin and Greyson. She loved cooking for, shopping with, and spoiling her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed!
A visitation for Lois will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM followed by a graveside committal at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens (Same Address).
