She attended Allen Elementary School, and Westport High School. At this time, she became very active in the Oracle of Rainbow Girls, where she served as Worthy Advisor for Service Assembly and later was elected Grand Worthy Advisor traveling to 72 Assemblies. Later, when the National Conference of the Oracle was held in Kansas City at the Municipal Auditorium, she was asked to give the Sunday Sermon.
She attended Drury College, and the University of Missouri, where she met Harold G. Sandford.
Lois taught public school, mostly in the Center School District, where she taught kindergarten for 35 years.
Later she studied at Unity School and became a licensed Unity teacher and taught adult classes for several years and served Unity Temple on the Plaza as pulpit assistant to Reverend Duke Tufty where she gave guided meditations for 20 years.
In her early 80’s, she gave up her home in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to John Knox Village.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 11:00am at Unity Temple on the Plaza, 707 West 47th Street, Kansas City, MO 64112.
