Ken was born October 6, 1938 in Canton, MO to Mary and Edward Logsdon, who pre-deceased him. His brother, Dick, and his sister, Bonnie, also pre-deceased him. He is survived by his brother, Harold.
Ken discovered a love of business while working during his youth at his father’s store, Logsdon Grocery. He graduated from Culver Stockton College in 1960 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. After graduating from college, he accepted a marketing position with Folger’s Coffee. He was involved in the creation of the advertising campaign involving Mrs. Olson, who became the spokeswoman for the company. He worked for two additional companies during the following 43 years before retiring and pursuing a number of personal business ventures. His success allowed him to establish a scholarship at Culver Stockton College for the benefit of students from Lewis County. He believed that “some of the greatest talent lies in our smaller communities and when given a chance to receive a college education, a whole new world will open up for them.”
His Catholic faith and dedication to family provided the foundation for his life. He was a longtime member of the Church of St. Ann, Prairie Village, KS, and he was one of the founding members of their chapter of the Knights of Columbus. For the last 19 years, he was a member of the Church of the Nativity, Leawood, KS. He served as a Eucharist Minister and enjoyed being an active member of the Knights of Columbus and Men of Nativity.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Nativity Catholic Church at 9:30 AM, with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. The family suggests contributions to Nativity Catholic Church in lieu of flowers. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, Canton, Missouri at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 8.
