Mrs. Kathleen R. Kirchner

Kathleen Rae Kirchner, 80, passed away September 3, 2015 at Northcare Hospice. A long time resident of Kansas City, MO, Kathleen had recently moved to Independence, MO. Her passion for children led her to a lifelong career in Catholic education. She retired from full time service in 1995 after serving at St. Ann’s School, in Independence, MO first as a teacher and then as principal. Kathleen was currently a parishioner of St. Ann’s. She was a member of St. Ann’s Altar and Rosary Society and a former member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents Angelina M. and Gerald R. Kelly and her brother Gerald E. Kelly. Survivors include Kathleen’s two sons, Charles F. Kirchner and Gerald R. Kirchner both of Kansas City, MO and two brothers, John A. Kelly of St. Louis, MO and Kevin J. Kelly of Kansas City, MO and granddaughter Emmi Shearman. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8th from 6-9 pm with the Rosary at 7:30 pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 10113 E. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64053. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 9th at 10:00 am with internment following at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
