Joyce Darlene Fultz (Brown) passed away on November 17, 2023, at her home in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 80. She was born on May 13, 1943 in Independence, Missouri to Mildred Brown (Summers) and Eugene Brown.
Joyce lost her mother at 13 years old. She had to learn how to take care of the family at a young age while still managing her education.
Joyce attended Van Horn High School, class of 1961.
On June 9, 1961 Joyce married the love of her life Orville M Fultz Jr and was happily devoted to him for 45 years even after his passing on October 3, 2006.
Joyce was a devoted mother to Cheryl and Kimberly. We love you mom! You're always with us; like a handprint on our hearts. You are missed deeply everyday.
Joyce was a devoted grandmother to Andrew, Corinna, Samantha, and Makayla. We love you grandma! We know the world won’t be the same without your vibrancy!
Joyce was a devoted great grandmother to Trenton, Weston, Adalynne and Colson. We love you JJ!
Joyce had a fulfilling career at Union Wire Rope in Human Resources, where she dedicated her time and immense expertise. She was known for her hard work and commitment to her profession. Also, Joyce was a member of Credit Women International Club where she was thought highly of.
Joyce loved life to the fullest. She had a passion for antique shopping and was a proud booth owner at the Brass Armadillo for over twenty years. She enjoyed the thrill of finding unique treasures and sharing her love for antiques with her family as well others. Joyce also cherished spending time with her family and loved ones, especially while traveling. Weekend family boating trips to the lake were among her favorite activities.Additionally, she found joy in doing ceramics alongside her daughters, creating beautiful pieces together. She enjoyed spending time with family, but most of all she enjoyed attending all her grandchildren and great grandchildren activities.
Joyce is survived by her daughters Cheryl Leyerle (Dave), and Kimberly Fultz. As well as her grandchildren Andrew Gardner (Kayla), Corinna Gardner (Mike), Samantha Leyerle, and Makayla Lager. Her great-grandchildren Trenton Kinnaman, Weston Gardner, Adalynne Barraza, and Colson Gardner. Her brother Richard Brown (Doris), and her sister Shirley Brady (Emmett).
Joyce was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Brown (Summers), her father Eugene Brown, her sister Dolly Brown, and her devoted husband of 45 years Orville M Fultz Jr. You are all together again in heavenly paradise.
Joyce will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, radiant confidence, dedication to her family, and the joy she brought into any room she walked into.
You are our angel; you remind us of the goodness in this world and inspire us to be the greatest version of ourselves.
You are and always will be a 10; fly high mom. We love you more!
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 1-2 PM with a service and graveside to follow at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
