Joy V. Dobler, 61, of Overland Park passed away March 4, 2018. Visitation will be from 4:30 – 7:30 PM Thursday, March 8, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Kansas City, MO, with a rosary recitation at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 9, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Kennedy Krieger Institute or St. Thomas More.
Joy was born in Lafayette, LA and had lived in the KC area since 1989. Joy is survived by Conrad Dobler, her husband of 30 years; her children, Franco Olivier, his wife Molly, and their son, Dash; Holli Dobler; Stephen Dobler; her step-children, Mark Dobler, his wife Dina, and their children, Jordin, Zane, Kinsey and Franni; Erin Lewin, her husband Chad, and their children, Mati and Brady; Abbey Palma, her husband Casey, and their children, Max, Jack and Margot; her brother, Steve Van Cleve, his wife Connie, and their son Jacob.
Joy was a registered nurse whose entrepreneurial spirit drove her to build two successful companies, SHSI and Mobile Health Clinics. Her passion for helping others was apparent in everything she did, from starting the St. Thomas More booster club to raising money and awareness for Spinal Cord Research. She loved coaching her kids’ sports teams and spent her last years’ spending every minute with her grandkids.
